Testimony Tuesday: A Leap of Faith

One of the homies hit me up the other day and said she was thinking about taking a leap of faith and leaving her job. She said she isn’t happy there and she’d rather use her time toward her passion and her own business. I told her to pray on it (the typical answer) but then I also told her if it’s a pressing issue and happiness is involved, just go. I have my reasons….
Last year, due to unforeseen circumstances with my house buying process, I decided to go ahead and let my apartment go. I was already going away for two weeks so I figured that would be enough time to figure out what to do next. I hit up my unit and told them that I’m available whenever if they just wanted to put me on orders for something and then I continued on with my house buying process. By the end of the two weeks I was pre-approved for a home and told my loan officer what house I wanted because I had already found a place, I just didn’t have anywhere to go until the process was completed. My friend had just moved out of her house and hadn’t yet rented it out so she let me stay there for a week in between time which was a pure blessing off the strength of prayer. From there I stayed one night at my aunts house just before her niece came to stay with her – another blessing. I got a call one day from my unit that they were putting me on orders for two months so I had a consistent place to stay while I finished buying my house.
Homeowner.
The next leap of faith came when I put in my two weeks notice at my job without even having the offer from my new job yet. I was tired of that situation but I knew that the new job was mine and kept praying on it. On the very last day of my two week notice I got the job offer. Now I’m working in a field I’m passionate about and feel like I’m making positive contributions to the world AND I have a pay increase.
Sometimes you just have to take that leap of faith to end up in a better situation.
